Stephanie Masterson

Stephanie graduated from Veterinary Technician school in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 2004. She moved to Colorado Springs in 2009 and has been loving it! Originally a Wisconsin native, she has been enjoying reading, fishing, gardening and biking in our lovely state. Stephanie has a chinchilla named Clio who keeps her busy when she isn’t here helping sick animals feel better.
Cheri Walton

Cheri graduated from Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology in 2001 and has a special interest in canine behavior. She shares her life with an Australian Cattle Dog puppy, two Border Collies, and a cat. When not training and competing in agility and herding, Cheri enjoys hiking with her dogs.
Veterinary Assistants
Andre' Austin
Andre' has enjoyed working with animals since childhood. He has worked with everything from domestics and livestock to exotics. He was 13 when he started working with animals in the medical field and has been doing it ever since. He now has almost 10 years experience as a technician. At home Andre’ has a wide variety of pets including three fire bellied toads (Larry, Curly and Moe), two rats (Clarence and Leroy Brown), four hermit crabs (Pee Wee, Middle Crab, God Crab and Rico) and five fiddler crabs (Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Jazz, Ratchet, and Ironhide), When he’s not playing with his animals, he enjoys playing the piano and singing, video games, zombies, and learning card tricks.
Army Nasim
Army has been with High Plains since opening. She is currently working towards a degree in veterinary medicine. She works full time with Carnival Cruise Lines and spends any free time with her 4 dogs; Luna, Isis, Freya, and Hera. She also has a cat named Eros.
Client Care Specialists
Patty Olney
Patty has been with High Plains since the hospital opened. She stays busy in her off time with her champion Rhodesian Ridgebacks and her many other businesses. She participates in several AKC events and is a proud breeder of award winning Rhodesian Ridgebacks. Patty also runs the Rocky Mountain Rescue.
Donna Sage
After 30 years of teaching elementary kids, Donna joined High Plains in 2008. She has several German Shepherds; Bo, Ernie, Ms. Maddie, and Princess Ziva. Donna works them in Schutzhund and Mondio ring, where they learn to do tracking, obedience, and protection.
Nancy Daily

Nancy has been with High Plains since the summer of 2008. She has four children, four dogs, a bunny, a cockatiel, and also works as a Real Estate Agent! Nancy just started training her dogs in agility and really enjoys it. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, ATV riding, and hanging out with her family.
Gwen Mazurowski
Gwen is our Special Saturday Girl, you will only see her here on Saturdays. She has been at High Plains since April of 2009. Gwen has worked in the veterinary field off and on since high school. She has 4 children, 4 dogs, 2 cats, a cockatiel and spends lots of time showing dogs. In her spare time she enjoys rock collecting, sewing, fishing, and hiking.
Jessica Huff
Jessica has been working with animals since 2006. She started at a veterinary hospital in Florida and moved here to Colorado Springs in 2008. She and her adorable pug Cartman enjoy hiking and car rides to the drive thru. When she rescued Cartman, this poor little guy was hit by a car, had a broken pelvis, and was about to be euthansized. They both feel lucky to have found each other.
Dana Olson
Dana is one of our newest smiling faces at the front desk. She has bred and handled National and International champion AKC Greyhounds. Her happy dogs are Annika, Vanessa, Kia, Kenny, and Andy. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking with her husband and spending time with her pets.
Business Manager
Don Gretter

Don was raised on a family farm in southeast Iowa and has a BS in Mathematics from Creighton University. His career has spanned 35 years from managing his family's business to working for the largest private U S Company and private midsize company before coming this past January to assist High Plains Veterinary Hospital. He and his wife enjoy back-country off roading, hiking and being with the grandkids in their spare time.
