Certified Veterinary Technicians/ Assistants
Cheri graduated from Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology in 2001 and has a special interest in canine behavior. She shares her life with an Australian Cattle Dog, two Border Collies, and a cat. When not training and competing in agility and herding, Cheri enjoys hiking with her dogs.
Tara is also a graduate from Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology. She has two dogs, Darby the Puggle and Buddy the Pug. She also has three cats named Macho, Touchdown, and Cowboy and a bearded dragon Lizzy. When Tara isn't taking care of animals at work, she enjoys playing softball, watching the Broncos and other activities with her family.
Karen is a graduate from Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology and has worked with Dr. McKenney since 2003. She had moved to Florida for a time, where she worked with a Veterinary Ophthalmologist and now loves ophthalmology. Her first love is working with geriatric animals and has several older pets at home. Currently she has four dogs, a rabbit and three cats. Karen is married and she is very proud of her children, Kailyn and Matthew.
Angel graduated from Cosumnes River College in 1991 with an Associate in Science degree. She shares her home with her husband and horse named Jo. When Angel is not at work taking care of animals, she volunteers her time giving mentally, physically, and emotionally challenged children therapeutic riding lessons.
Meghann is a Veterinary Technician, who graduated from Colorado Mtn. College in 2000 with an associate of Applied Science degree. She has worked in the Veterinary field for 14 years and still loves every moment. She enjoys hiking, riding horses, and spending time with her husband, her son, Jase and her friends. She has a dog, cat and a horse for companions.
Allyson graduated from San Juan College with an associate degree in Applied Science. She has been working as a Veterinary Technician in Colorado Springs for 10 years. Allyson loves her job and finds it very rewarding! She has two big black loveable dogs, Zeke and Zeus, and a kitty named Giovanni. She enjoys spending time with her husband and her children, Kyle and Shyla.
Jessica graduated from Front Range Community College in Fort Collins in 2006 with an Associates Degree of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology. She has one boxer, Sasha, two cats and way too many fish. She especially enjoys working with exotic patients and has to snuggle any boxer who walks through the door. When she is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two young girls, Eva and Eliza.
Felicia has been at High Plains since August 2015. Felicia has her Associate's Degree in Animal Science and a Bachelor's Degree in Biology. She has three dogs, Chloe, Ariat and Cooper and one horse, Tuffy. In her spare time, she enjoys riding her horse, hiking and playing bingo.
Lori started her career in the veterianry field as a Veterinary Assistant with us in 2008. She pursued her passion of helping people have better dogs by diving into dog training and she is our go to person for animal behavior issues. She came back to work for us in 2015. Lori has four dogs, one rabbit, and a housefull of dogs she is working with. She has two boys, James and Jacob, two step sons, Hunter and Blake, and is married to a law enforcement officer.
Brandon is a graduate of PIMA medical institute for Veterinary Assisting. Brandon moved to Colorado Springs from Maine. He is a U.S. Army veteran. His hobbies and interests consist of sports, the outdoors, music, and spending time with his kids, Beckett and Amythest. He also has a very large passion for animals, especially Boston Terriers.
Client Care Specialist
Nancy has been with High Plains since the summer of 2008. She has four children, one grandchild, two dogs, Mason and Kiki, and a cockatiel named Rocket. She also works part time as a Real Estate Agent. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, ATV riding, and hanging out with her family.
Dana has bred and handled National and International champion AKC Greyhounds. She currently has 5 Greyhounds- Vanessa, Kia, DeeDee and Andy. Her new addition to the family is Iraina, she traveled from Moscow. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking with her husband and spending time with her pets.
Jamie has been in the animal field for over twenty years. While living abroad in Stuttgart Germany, she utilized her time by voluteering with the American Red Cross. She worked two years at the Stuttgart Veterinary Clinic, located on Panazer Kaserne, were she was receiving training as a veterinary technician. She currently is pursuing her certification. In her spare time she loves hiking, any outdoor activities and spending time with her three dogs, two cats and her husband.
Debby has been with us since July 2013. She and her husband Chuck and three children have resided in Colorado since 1999. Debby has been involved with animals pretty much her whole life, she is a former dog groomer and trainer. She enjoys in her free time going to dog shows and breeding her Spinone Italiano hunting dogs. She enjoys upland bird hunting with her husband, as well as obedience and bird training her dogs. She is owned by her seven dogs, Madge, Sheldon, Maximus, Sway, Never, Islay and Red.
Candace has been with us since August 2014. She and her husband, Nick, have two children, one grandchild, and four dogs. Candace previously worked as a legal secretary but has followed her passion for animals and loves working at High Plains Veterinary Hospital. In her free time, Candace likes to read and spend time with her family.
Kevin joined HPVH in February 2015 after spending 20+ years in the dental field. She has one daughter, three grandchildren and one dog, KC. She is a lifelong resident of Colorado Springs. In her free time, she enjoys traveling with her husband, Chip.
