Certified Veterinary Technicians
Cheri graduated from Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology in 2001 and has a special interest in canine behavior. She shares her life with an Australian Cattle Dog, two Border Collies, and a cat. When not training and competing in agility and herding, Cheri enjoys hiking with her dogs.
Tara is also a graduate from Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology. She has three dogs, Eddie the German Shepherd Mix, Darby the Puggle and Buddy the Pug. She also has three cats named Macho, Touchdown, and Cowboy. When Tara isn't taking care of animals at work, she enjoys playing softball, watching the Broncos and other activities with her family.
Karen is a graduate from Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology and has worked with Dr. McKenney and Dr. Pierce since 2003. She had moved to Florida for a time, where she worked a Veterinary Opthalmologist and now loves opthamology. Her first love is working with geriatric animals and has several older pets at home. Currently she has four dogs and three cats. She is very proud of her children, Kailyn and Matthew. Her husband, Jamie keeps her sane.
Angel graduated from Cosumnes River College in 1991 with an Associate in Science degree. She shares her home with her husband and horse named Jo. When Angel is not at work taking care of animals, she volunteers her time giving mentally, physically, and emotionally challenged children therapeutic riding lessons.
Kara is a Veterinary Technician and is currently going to school to become certified. She has been working in the veterinary field for 7 years. She enjoys outdoor activities that includes hiking, fly fishing, and spending time with her boyfriend Daniel and their canine companion, Diesel. They are also enjoying their newly adopted cat, Shots.
Meghann is a Veterinary Technician, a graduate from Colorado Mtn. College in 2000 with an associate of Applied Science degree. She has worked in the Veterinary field for 14 yrs and still loves every moment. She enjoys hiking, riding horses and spending time with family and friends. She has a dog, cat and a horse for companions.
Client Care Specialists
Patty, a semi-retired real estate broker, has been with High Plains since the hospital opened. She stays busy in her off time with her champion Rhodesian Ridgebacks and her many other businesses. She participates in several AKC/UKC/International events and is a proud breeder/handler of Top 10 award winning Rhodesian Ridgebacks. Patty also runs the Rocky Mountain Rhodesian Ridgeback Rescue.
Nancy has been with High Plains since the summer of 2008. She has four children, one grandchild, two dogs, Magoo and Mason, and a cockatiel named Rocket. She also works part time as a Real Estate Agent. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, ATV riding, and hanging out with her family.
Dana has bred and handled National and International champion AKC Greyhounds. Her happy dogs are Annika, Vanessa, Kia, DeeDee, and Andy. Her new addition to the family is Iraina, she traveled from Moscow. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking with her husband and spending time with her pets.
Morgan has been working part time since 2012. She also works as a hairstylist and stays very busy. She has one special dog name Moto. Morgan enjoys ATV riding, shopping, snowboarding, hiking and sleeping in her spare time.
Rita has come to us in 2013 from New Mexico, where she previously worked as a Veterinary Assistant for 9 years and Practice Manager in Albuquerque. She enjoys spending time with her husband, Gar the pomeranian and Nuala the chihuahua.
Kasey joined the High Plains staff May 2013. She and her husband followed the U.S. Army to Fort Carson. She enjoys trail hiking, going to the dog park, and is an avid fan of the Denver Broncos. She has a spunky Belgian Malinois named Amelia.
Jamie has been in the animal field for over twenty years. While living abroad in Stuttgart Germany, she utilized her time by voluteering with the American Red Cross. She worked two years at the Stuttgart Veterinary Clinic, located on Panazer Kaserne, were she was receiving training as a veterinary technician. She currently is pursuing her certification. In her spare time she loves hiking, any outdoor activities and spending time with her three dogs, two cats and her husband.
Debby has been with us since July 2013. She and her husband Chuck and three children have resided in Colorado since 1999. Debby has been involved with animals pretty much her whole life, she is a former dog groomer and trainer. She enjoys in her free time going to dog shows and breeding her Spinone Italiano hunting dogs. She enjoys upland bird hunting with her husband, as well as obedience and bird training her dogs. She is owned by her seven dogs, Madge, Sheldon, Maximus, Sway, Never, Islay and Red.
