Prince is a 5 year old aussie shepherd/border collie mix that was surrendered to Dream Power Animal Rescue in late August. He came into the rescue with his sister Belle, as a pair of farm dogs, who'd been abandoned by their owners. The previous owners had left him in the care of the neighbors, saying they would be back within a month to get them...however, a month later, they called and said "Oh, we got puppies, you can just get rid of them....shoot them if you want. we don't care."
Poor Prince and his sister had been forgotten and replaced. The neighbors were smart enough to know that the additional two dogs were too much for them to handle, and so they turned them over to Dream Power Rescue. They initially wanted Prince and Belle to be adopted together, but have found that they do better when they are apart from each other.
Prince is a very sweet, a friendly boy, although he does take some time to warm up to new people. He does well with female dogs, but prefers not to be forced to interact with male dogs, if at all possible.
He knows how to work cattle, sheep, goats, horses, and would do beautifully with a family who could give him a job, and a purpose in life. He's not a lazy dog, and does best when he's got something to keep him occupied.
